Bell was born when Malone himself was only 20 years old, but the basketball star denied all such claims of him being the father. It was only later, through a paternity suit, that Bell came to know about his father’s identity.

Malone’s basketball career could never have taken off in the first place if Gloria Bell’s family had filed charges of statutory r*pe in the first place. Malone even refused to pay a meager weekly fee for Bell’s support during his formative years, despite making a fortune at that time in college football.
