No e-scooter parking at BSU game Friday night

Two companies, Lime and Bird, debuted their e-scooter products this week in Boise and many people have been giving them test drives throughout the downtown area and beyond.

The scooters are "dockless" which means renters don't need to drop them off at a specific location when they are done.

And that might lead Boise State football fans to think they might offer an alternative to the struggle to find a parking spot on game day.

However, riders should know that taking a scooter to Albertsons Stadium Friday night for the game against Colorado State comes with some restrictions.

According to Boise State Public Safety, the scooters are not allowed to be parked at the stadium. The closest area to park them on campus is the north side of the Student Union Building.

Another thing to consider is that both companies will be collecting the scooters for the day at some point during the game, so fans should plan an alternate way to get home or to their cars after the game is over.

Campus safety officials say they are enthusiastic about the new scooter concept and are still working on how to implement them on campus, but the large amount of foot traffic at the stadium presents a safety issue, so they decided to not allow them in the area.
