Northwest Nazarene University is just one of Idaho's schools battling the changes made by the pandemic, and one year later, the NNU community is stronger than ever before.

"In spite of masks and in spite of physical distancing, we were determined to come back in order to put community first," said Mark Cork, NNU associate vice president of marketing and communication. "In fact, that was our commitment was to put community first, to put others in front of ourselves, in front of our own needs and desires. That’s why we chose to come back and to wear face coverings and to do anything that we needed to do to deliver a quality education and in order for our students to have a wonderful experience on campus."

NNU’s campus in Canyon County falls under Southwest District Health.

And on Thursday, the health district released its health alert levels leaving Canyon County in the yellow category.

With a positivity rate of three-and-a-half-percent.
