Australian Open 2023 draw
The Australian Open 2023 begins in a few days. However, here is what the draw looks like for some prominent players. However, with the absence of current world No.1, Carlos Alcaraz, the men’s seedings changed. Rafael Nadal goes into the tournament as the no.1 seed, while the 9-time AO champion, Novak Djokovic is in 4th seed.
In women’s singles, Iga Swiatek retains her top seed and the Tunisian star, Ons Jabeur is in 2nd seed. The draw ceremony took place on Thursday at Melbourne Park. There are a few interesting 1st round match-ups to look for. Dominic Thiem vs Andrey Rublev and Andy Murray vs Matteo Berrettini are a few interesting first-round matches.
Novak starts his campaign against Carballes Baena, Iga Swiatek’s first match is against Niemeier, and the top seed’s first challenge is against Britain, Draper. Both Rafa and Novak are placed in different groups, so they are most likely to meet in the finals if no upset happens. However, players like Casper Ruud, Daniil Medvedev, and Stefanos Tsitsipas cannot be taken for granted.
