Kevin Harvick asserts Kyle Larson can go wheel-to-wheel with Max Verstappen in a Red Bull car
The NASCAR-Formula One fans have been having a beef over who has the bets racer, following bold claims for 2021 Cup champion Kyle Larson. The HMS driver claimed that he is the more versatile driver than the reigning F1 champion Max Verstappen. 2014 Cup champion Kevin Harvick now entered the debate to share his views.
Kevin Harvick in the latest episode of his podcast defended the claims made by Larson. He went on admit that he believes the NASCAR drivers can make better transition into open-wheel racing than the other way around. The ex-SHR driver even went onto claim that Kyle Larson can go wheel to wheel with Max Verstappen in a Red Bull car within short amount time.
I truly believe that our drivers make a better transition into IndyCar and F1. I think if we sent Kyle Larson and sent him to a Red Bull car right now, I think he’d go wheel-to-wheel with Max Verstappen. It wouldn’t take him long to figure it out.Kevin Harvick said via Happy Hour Podcast.
The debate and discussion around who is the bets driver won’t be changing anytime soon. But these arguments are often worthless as it is hard to validate the claims with neutral playing field for both the racers. As Max Verstappen suggested it’s better to cherish different types of racers than debating over it.
Kevin Harvick explains why it will be hard for Max Verstappen to perform in NASCAR
The future Hall of Famer asserted that it would take Max Verstappen more time to get better in racing stock cars as NASCAR is a unique sport. He asserted that the car and driving dynamic in the stock car racing scene is really challenging to get used to.
I think if you flipped that switch and you sent Max to a stock car, I think it would take a lot longer. NASCAR is such a unique… The car is such a unique dynamic to how you drive it and the things that you do, much different than it used to be from the older cars to the Next Gen cars. That’s a great debate. I’m glad that one of our guys are in that conversation from a NASCAR standpoint.Kevin Harvick said.
The ex-RCR driver seems to making some solid points about the Kyle Larson vs Max Verstappen debate. The only way to settle this is some kind of a cross over event. But unfortunately, there is very limited possibility of it ever happening.
