Kevin Durant gets special shout-out from Drake in latest release No Face

Publish date: 2024-07-22

Canadian rapper Drake has once again stolen the headlines and fueled his feud with rapper Kendrick Lamar after dropping 3 new songs recently. Notably, Drake also gave a special shout-out to his longtime friend, and the Phoenix Suns star man, Kevin Durant in his latest song named, ‘No-Face.’ It’s important to note that these songs are a diss towards Lamar and other musicians in the industry.

On Friday, three new tracks were posted on Drake’s supposed Instagram burner page @plottttwisttttt. The three-song package featured “No Face” with Playboi Carti, “Circadian Rhythm (The Language 2),” and “SOD,” a solo version of the Lil Yachty-assisted hit “Super Soak” which has caught the attention of the music industry.

Drake said on No-Face, “Husher keep saying they know that they played it wrong/KD just text what the f*ck are we waiting on” Interestingly, this was not the first time Drake has given KD a shout-out in his music. His most recognizable shout-out was arguably when the song ‘Champagne Papi’ was released for Kevin Durant’s 25th birthday in 2013. Only a year later, the 14-time All-Star repaid the favor by visiting the OVO Festival in Toronto.

Moreover, during Team USA’s campaign at the 2024 Paris Olympics, many stars were asked to pick a side between Drake and Lamar. The long-running rap music civil war piqued supporters’ interest in the team’s selection, with Lamar seen as the logical choice. However, Drake topped the list. With the likes of Durant and Stephen Curry making their choices known to the basketball community.

Anthony Edwards claimed that Kevin Durant only ‘listens to Drake’ at Fanatics Fest

After winning the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Team USA stars appeared in an upbeat state recently. Anthony Edwards and Kevin Durant recently caught up with NBA analyst and host Jalen Rose while attending the Fanatics Fest. Notably, Edwards made a hilarious claim regarding musician Drake and his teammate Durant.

Edwards claimed on the Show that Durant listens to only Drake. At the Fanatics Fest, Anthony Edwards told Jalen Rose, “Man, KD only wanna listen to Drake. I was with him the whole time and I was listening to nobody but Drake.” This quickly caught the basketball community’s attention and also showcased Durant’s bond with the Canadian rapper.

Additionally, Durant also met Drake in Canada this year, where he spent some time alongside his favorite rapper. Interestingly, Drake and Durant were photographed hanging together at Drake’s Toronto home. Drake’s Instagram post has a photo of the two appearing to smoke hookah as they participated in the Canada Day celebrations.
