Idaho Humane Society partners with West Valley to provide care to Canyon County animal
Canyon County, ID (CBS2) — The Idaho Humane Society (IHS) has announced a new collaboration with Best Friends Animal Society to provide support and guidance to Canyon County and the West Valley Humane Society to bring improved animal welfare to Canyon County.
IHS has increased the number of animals transferred from the West Valley Humane Society as part of efforts to relieve some pressure on West Valley while they are under construction and ensure that the animals are receiving the necessary care they need.
“We take pride in our long-standing partnership with West Valley and look forward to working closely with their dedicated staff, volunteers, and community members. Together, we will help the Canyon County nonprofit evolve into a stronger shelter with expanded community access,” said Dr. Jeff Rosenthal, CEO of the Idaho Humane Society.
IHS will take an active role in the daily operation of West Valley as part of the collaboration, IHS will focus on increasing public adoptions, redemptions, and other animal welfare programs and will be making policy changes to reach these goals.
West Valley Humane Society’s Board President, Caleb Smith, said, "Collaboration and partnerships are the key to providing the best possible services to our community and their pets. This partnership marks another great step forward for West Valley Humane Society, we are incredibly appreciative of Idaho Humane Society and all of our partners who have supported the organization and our mission."
