Crews containing majority of fires in Boise National Forest
BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — The Golden Fire and Warm Fire have been mostly contained as of Friday evening in the Boise National Forest.
The Golden Fire, near Coulter Summit, is now 50 percent contained. Over180 people are responding to the now 91-acre fire.
Fire officials still aren't sure what caused the fire. Four engines, five helicopters, with additional air support form Single Engine Air Tankers (SEATs), large air tankers and water scoopers are responding.
Hand crews and engines have started mopping up, and are removing of hazard trees to reduce the amount of aircraft needed for the fire.
The Warm Fire, which caused camper evacuation on Monday, is now 80 percent contained.
Crews are making good progress completing control lines and mopping up where needed.
The fire grew to about 41 acres.
