Brandon Aiyuk is leaving the San Francisco 49ers! First, it was his girlfriend, Rochelle Searight and now it’s his best friend, Draysean Hudson who confirmed the news on behalf of the wide receiver.

Although Aiyuk still has one more year remaining on his contract with the 49ers, based on the words of his loved ones, it appears the receiver has played his last game with the franchise– Super Bowl LVIII. It hasn’t been two days since the Niners suffered a tragic Super Bowl loss despite having a magical season. But now, as the offseason is about to begin, they would need to deal with some pressing business in hand.

Brandon Aiyuk Cries at his Locker After the 49ers Lose the Super Bowl

Just the previous day, Aiyuk’s girlfriend indirectly hinted at her boyfriend’s departure from the 49ers stating that it was the last time she and her son step foot at Levi’s Stadium on Monday as they might not return next season.

But his best friend, who’s also a professional athlete, went more blunt with his words while talking about Aiyuk’s future with the franchise. Hudson wrote in the two Instagram stories he shared concerning Aiyuk:

This is the exact reason why we leaving San Francisco. Thank you 49ers for drafting my brother we are forever grateful … why does your All Pro 1300 have 3 catches in the Super Bowl??

Moreover, Hudson also hinted at a potential destination for the 49ers’ receiver, as he mentioned “BA to Vegas” in his story along with a pirate face emoji, hinting that the wideout may consider Las Vegas Raiders as his next destination.

Why is Brandon Aiyuk leaving the 49ers?

After the tragic loss of the Super Bowl, while the other players expressed sorrow, the wide receiver Aiyuk expressed his frustration with the team in a vague post. It seemed clear that Aiyuk was not happy about limited participation in the Super Bowl game or the entire postseason.

Aiyuk logged his career-high 1,342 yards along with 75 catches in the 2023 regular season. But in the 49ers’ playoff games, he only had nine receptions and in the Super Bowl game, he barely had three passes in six targets for 49 yards.

The 25-year-old isn’t satisfied with how the Niners are utilizing his skills when he knows he can contribute to something big. Perhaps, he would get his chance with another team he decided to trade.
